runs across the top of the palm, just below the fingers
The heart line is linked to your emotional life — love, relationships and how openly you show your feelings.
- Long & curved
is read as a warm-hearted nature that shows its feelings openly.
- Short or straight
is taken as a more reserved, matter-of-fact way with emotions.
- Strongly curved up to the index finger
is interpreted as great devotion and romance.

runs across the middle of the palm, below the heart line
The head line stands for thinking, learning, focus and the way a person makes decisions.
- Long & clear
is associated with sustained, well-structured thinking.
- Short
is read as a practical mind that goes straight to the essentials.
- Curved and sloping down
is taken as imagination and creative thinking; straight points more to logic.

Contrary to a common myth, the life line says nothing about how long you will live. It is linked to vitality, zest and your general life force.
- A wide arc
is read as drive, energy and a love of life.
- Close to the thumb
is taken as a more cautious, calmer baseline energy.
- Long & clear
is seen as stability — breaks are read as turning points, not misfortune.

runs vertically up the middle of the palm toward the middle finger (not everyone has one)
The fate line (also called the Saturn line) is linked to your life path, career and the thread running through your life. Some people have none at all — which is read as an especially free, self-directed path.

is seen as a clear, purposeful life path.
- Broken or in several parts
is read as fresh starts and changes of direction.
- Absent
is not read negatively, but as great freedom to shape your own way.
Which hand do you read?
Traditional palmistry distinguishes two hands. The active hand — the right for right-handers, the left for left-handers — is seen as a mirror of the life you have lived, the present, and what you have made of your gifts. The passive hand stands for the talents and possibilities you were born with.
